Barberry - The potent antiseptic effect of the barberry is of great help in treating cases of amebic dysentery, in the treatment of water borne disorders like cholera and in treating any of the other gastrointestinal infections which are caused by bacteria.

Bistort - Its antiseptic qualities help to drive out infection in the urine. This can be especially useful in cases of cystitis and urinary tract infections. The herb has also been used to alleviate other infectious diseases like cholera, smallpox, measles, skin eruptions, canker sores and mouth infections.

Black Walnut - The amount of iodine in black walnut tincture is so high that it can be used as a substitute for iodine antiseptics. Black walnut tincture works as an iodine antiseptic because it is an oxidizing agent. This means it acts as an electrolyte which upsets the cellular balance of any bacteria or other microbial it comes in contact with.

Saw Palmetto - It's antiseptic and astringent properties help to ease inflamed and irritated tissues of the urinary tract. Expelling toxins and irritants by stimulating urine flow, saw palmetto may help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections.

White Oak Bark - It acts as an antiseptic. It can relieve bruises, injuries, varicosities, swollen tissues and bleeding. This also helps strengthen the capillaries - a large factor in why this herb is so useful in curing hemorrhoids.

Garlic - As an antiseptic, its use has long been recognized. In the late war it was widely employed in the control of suppuration in wounds. The raw juice is expressed, diluted with water, and put on swabs of sterilized Sphagnum moss, which are applied to the wound. It is sometimes externally applied in ointments and lotions, and as an antiseptic, to disperse hard swellings, also pounded and employed as a poultice for scrofulous sores.

Myrrh - Since time immemorial, people have held myrrh in high esteem for its antiseptic as well as detoxifying properties. It forms an important ingredient of an ointment that is applied externally to cure hemorrhoids or swollen anus veins, bed sores as well as wounds.

Goldenseal - This medicinal herb appears to have a wide spectrum of antibiotic and antiseptic properties that may help the body fight infections and remove unwanted toxins — giving your body a little extra protection anytime the risk of infection, stress, or illness is increased. Goldenseal root powder is often used to treat cold sores, canker sores and sore throats.
